At Ilios K. Village Resort, family is not just a word — it is the heart of everything we do.                 

The story begins in 1964, when Mr. Konstantinos Ilios left Kos and moved to Germany. There, he met his wife Panagoula Ketsiou, and together they built a life based on hard work, care, and strong family values. In 1972, they opened their first hospitality business — a traditional Greek restaurant in Beckum, near Lippstadt — sharing Greek flavors and warm hospitality with their guests abroad.

With five children and a deep love for their homeland, the family always dreamed of returning to Kos to create a place where guests would feel at home.
That dream became reality in 1982, when the family began building Ilios K. Village Resort. On 4 July 1984, the hotel welcomed its first guests. From the beginning, Ilios was created as a family hotel, surrounded by nature, where hospitality is personal and every guest is treated with care.

Today, all five children direct or indirect are actively involved in the hotel, continuing the values their parents passed on. Dimitra, one of the daughters, is often the first family member guests meet, welcoming them with warmth and a personal touch. Nikos is the driving force behind the scenes, while the rest of the family each plays an active role, guided by the principles and care of Mr. Konstantinos Ilios.

A special part of Mr. Ilios’ life has always been his love for farming. Even today, he spends his days caring for the land, growing fresh vegetables and fruits. From this farm, ingredients go directly from the ground of Kos to the table, offering healthy, natural food for our guests — prepared with respect for nature and tradition.

Despite the years and the hotel’s growth, Mr. Konstantinos Ilios remains present every day, caring for the gardens and farm with the same dedication as when the journey began. His presence reflects the soul of Ilios: honest, caring, and deeply connected to the land.
